ready to ride!

i spent well over an hour cleaning my bike tonight. like i said previously, i have not cleaned it since before o2s last year. it was trashed from the unfortunate mudfest at island lake last weekend, so it was inevitable that clean my baby before the next ride. even though she is beat up asthetically, i still found myself alone in the garage just staring at her. well, not that that's anything new. i pretty much stand by myself and oogle hot chicks all day anyway. yep, i'm pretty much a loser. i didn't spend too much time on the drivetrain. surprisingly, it's in pretty good shape. the chain was bone dry, but there was no rust to be found. i gave it a nice lube job and she can't wait to be ridden. of course my crappy ass back wheel is out of true. i had to tinker w/ the brakes so they don't rub and slow me down anymore than i need to. the only thing it needs is new front brake pads and a new fork. i was telling soupy tonight that it's better than riding it rigid. well, maybe not. i'm sure a nice rigid fork would be a lot stiffer than the noodle that's on there.

i can't fucking believe it's snowing out right now! the weather has sucked all week. hopefully, the dirt roads won't be too muddy. i hate cleaning bikes! i'm assuming we're doing at least 35 miles so this will be a true test of the heed. i'll make my own "sustained energy" formula by adding some hammer whey to the mix. i think 18g of protein for a 4 hour ride should suffice. i can't believe i'm such a tech geek when it comes to stuff like this. it must be the geeky scientist in me that's coming out! maybe i should ride in my lab coat. yeah, whatever. i told ya i'm a dork!

today was a complete rest day. the only thing i lifted tonight was the fat burrito i had for dinner. well, i did two reps since i had dos large burritos tonight. then i had some potato chips. not the pansy-ass baked or reduced fat bullshit, but the full-fat, cellulite on my ass potato chips. then i felt guilty so i grabbed a bag of baked pita chips. that was 4 hours ago. i'm still full. we'll just call that carbo-loading and glycogen replenishment. probably about 1700 calories in one sitting. sick. well, i'd better get some recovery rest as we're getting an early start tomorrow. i like to sleep in on saturdays. i must be motivated. or is it the lure of the dark horse girls?
